The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) held its first Circle of Honor Dinner at the Institute’s world headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif., in May 2003. The event was held to recognize 20 dedicated supporters of the institute who have donated gifts-in-kind cumulatively valued at $100,000 or more.

To symbolize GIA’s appreciation for these gifts, medallions designed and created by renowned designer and GIA graduate Henry Dunay of Henry Dunay Designs Inc. were presented to the inductees.
