A long-standing copyright infringement lawsuit between David Yurman of Yurman Design Inc., New York, and a New Jersey-based wholesaler and an Italian manufacturer has been settled.
Under the agreement, filed in Federal District Court in New York City, Golden Treasure Imports Inc., dba Alisa, of Manalapan, N.J., and Alessandro Menegatti of Vicenza, Italy, will no longer manufacture, use, or sell certain designs of cable jewelry that Yurman claimed were copied from his line, said a Yurman spokesperson.
Alisa agreed to pay Yurman a damage award, the amount of which was not disclosed.
Also in the settlement, Yurman acknowledged Alisa’s right to sell cable jewelry, said a statement from Alisa.
