The Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) announced two recipients of its most recent grant awards: Edinboro University of Pennsylvania hosted Harlan Butt, who conducted a workshop on “Enameling on Three-Dimensional Forms” in April; and Linda Kaye-Moses taught “Precious Metal Clay” at Metal’s Edge Studios, Scottsdale, Ariz., in January. The grant recipients receive $750 and complimentary copies of Metalsmith, and each artist presents a public lecture in addition to teaching a workshop.

These competitive grants are available to local and regional jewelry and metalsmithing groups, craft organizations, and education institutions to sponsor guest artists who present workshops and lectures to the general public. Grant application guidelines and forms are available through SNAG’s Web site at www.snagmetalsmith.org/snag/snagprograms.asp. The application postmark deadlines are May 1 and Nov. 1 each year.
