The first of four traveling trade events hosted by Prime Jewelry Group, held Aug. 29-30 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston, experienced strong attendance and positive feedback from the area’s VIP jewelry retailers. Building on the momentum of this event, the Prime Jewelry Group now heads to Dearborn, Mich., Sept. 12-13; Falls Church, Va., Sept. 19-20; and Sarasota, Fla., Oct. 10-11.

Formed by 30 leading jewelry manufacturers in 2002, the Prime Jewelry Group launched these alternative trade events to offer a secure, personalized, and convenient business environment for traveling jewelry salespeople and their customers.

“Based on the attendance increase and enthusiastic feedback we received in Texas, we are looking forward to successful shows in Dearborn, Falls Church, and Sarasota,” says Carol Young, executive director, Southern Jewelry Travelers Association, the organizers of the Prime Group. “In addition to offering a safer alternative for traveling sales people, these events also provide a relaxed and private setting for retailers to meet one-on-one with vendors while enjoying the benefits of these exclusive shows.”

As invitation-only events, these traveling functions bring together 30 Prime Group vendors in a luxury hotel ballroom for a two-day time period. Select VIP retailers from the area are invited by Prime vendors to attend these exclusive showings. As a part of the event, the retailers enjoy complimentary breakfast, lunch and an afternoon cocktail reception on the show floor, and receive a $100 gift certificate on orders of $1,000 or more at the event when they pre-register.

Retailers attending the Houston event were impressed by the show’s selection and hospitable nature. “I think it was an outstanding event. There was a terrific assortment of vendors. I was quite impressed by the arrangement of the show,” says Thomas Markle of Thomas Markle Jewelers, Houston and Kingwood, Texas.

The Dearborn show will be held at Fairlane Plaza, 300 Town Center Drive; The Falls Church event will be held at Marriott Fairview Park; 3111 Fairview Park Drive; And the Sarasota event will be held at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota, 1111 Ritz Carlton Drive.
