Six months ago, I was given the unenviable task of telling the staff of JCK that the magazine was relocating to New York City. The move was a strategic corporate decision, not a reflection of the magazine’s success or the staff’s accomplishments. Indeed, JCK is the jewelry industry’s leading publication, and its staff a tremendously accomplished group. My heartfelt thanks go out to the Pennsylvania-based staff for leaving us with an incredible product, a sterling brand, and good will across the industry.
Now we’ve begun a new chapter of JCK . The men and women in this photograph are the new staff of the magazine. Some of them are veterans who made the move and whom you’ll recognize, and some are talented newcomers. In the short time they’ve been assembled, they’ve managed to relocate offices, begin working with their new teammates, completely redesign and improve JCK magazine, and post our best January ever!
In the six months, I’ve also had the chance to meet many of our wonderful advertisers. From Camden, Maine, to Lafayette, Louisiana, to the jewelry districts of New York and Los Angeles, many meetings, conversations, and tours have shown me an amazing industry, filled with passionate, warm, driven, and successful people. I am honored to be welcomed as a part of it.
We are very excited about our redesign, our new columns (with more to come!), and our new sections like the hands-on “Jeweler’s Notebook.” Our goal is simple: To continue to be the first-read and most-read magazine in the business. I know we’re going to have a great time accomplishing this, and we hope you enjoy the results!
