The 60th Annual Dinner Dance Gala of The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of California, held in Beverly Hills last October, raised $38,000 for Jewelers for Children (JFC).
At the event, club president Robert Bridel announced that the club reached its goal of $38,000, a 10% increase over last year’s figures. Money was raised with proceeds from the tribute book and a raffle and silent auction.
Terry Burman, CEO of Signet Corporation plc and Sterling Jewelers Inc., was the keynote speaker, and the two honorees were Dave Bonaparte, vice president of Reed Exhibitions’ JCK Shows, and Frank Dallahan, former publisher of JCK magazine. It was only the seventh time the Excellence in Service Award has been bestowed since the club’s start in 1944.
Bridel also recognized GIA president Bill Boyajian and marketing and vice president of public relations Kathryn Kimmel for achieving a record attendance at the 2004 GIA Career Fair in Carlsbad, Cal.
