Xemex timepieces, the unique and stylish Swiss watches designed by internationally acclaimed Swiss graphic designer Ruedi Külling, have a new U.S. distributor. Universal Watch Company, which also distributes Boccia Titanium watches and German-made TeNo watches and jewelry, has added the award-winning Swiss brand to the lines it offers.
Külling launched the brand in 1996 with partner Hanspeter Hanschick. Since then, it has evolved from a timepiece known only to a few design aficionados to one sought by collectors and by those interested in distinctive, high-quality style.
The Swiss-made stainless-steel watches are available in four collections: the sporty Offroad; the elegant Avenue line; the large, youthful Speedway, with flexible lugs and convex crystal; and the new urban Piccadilly line. Xemex watches retail for $695 to $6,000; prices vary according to movement and design. Though most are automatics, some have quartz movements.
