The MIDAS Texan Fine Jewelry Show, which takes place this year on new dates, Aug. 27-29, at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, continues its commitment in establishing the Southwest as an integral part of the fine jewelry industry.
The MIDAS Texan Show offers the safest way to do business with industry professionals from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Missouri as well as with retailers and exhibitors nationwide.
The new space at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center in 2004 was successful. According to the Texas Jewelers Association, the 2004 MIDAS Show was “well managed and well attended by both regular and new store owners alike and offered a great networking opportunity.”
This year, MIDAS Texan will further highlight the strength of the Southwest Jewelry Community with a recognition awards program. The awards program will honor outstanding Southwest retailers and salespeople. According to Janisue Rigel, MIDAS Texan show director “there are so many incredible jewelry professionals in the Southwest who contribute so much to the industry, it was important for us to show our commitment and honor them.” The awards program will take place Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Nomination and award details will be released soon and be available on the MIDAS Texan Web site at www.midastexan.com
In addition to the newly created awards program, the 2005 MIDAS Texan show will continue its tradition of valuable educational programs including a Lone Star GIA Alumni Association Seminar on the topic of Diamond Cut Grade: Impact and Pricing for the Retail Jeweler. Other events include the Southwest Women’s Jewelry Design Contest, The Texas Institute Jewelry Design Contest for Students, and a Silent Auction.
