Ron Wilson, jeweler-gemologist in Texas, has spotted a trend in the jewelry and gemstone business that he’s not happy about.
“It seems that the words ‘phenomenon’ and ‘phenomenal’ have been mixed up,” says Wilson. “As I understand it, a person may have a phenomenal crystal of some type that does not exhibit any type of phenomena other than showing great crystal form. I believe words have meanings. Some stones exhibit pretty amazing phenomena, while other stones can be phenomenal yet not exhibit any of these amazing traits.”
