Octogon Systems, Basel, Switzerland, is introducing the first pictorial invoice/memo system. Computer software lets retailers create invoices and memos showing images of inclusions, aiding identification of their diamonds and color gems.
The pictorial invoice or memo and corresponding information for each gemstone or diamond are stored electronically in a pictorial database. The company says pictorial memos will help maintain a history of each stone, helping retailers comply with the Kimberly Process as well as the anti-money-laundering provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act.
