Harold Howland, Former MJSA Executive, Dies Harold C. Howland Jr., 64, deputy executive director of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths (now Suppliers) of America, died recently of a heart attack. Howland joined MJSA in 1968 and was a key figure in the group’s expansion during the 1970s and 1980s. He also acted as show manager for MJSA’s Expo New York. After leaving MJSA in 1988, he joined the sales and marketing team of Rhode Island refiner Pease & Curren. He retired in 1999. He is survived by wife Beverly, son Clay and daughter Susan, and two grandchildren.
