Theodore (Ted) Lazarus, 81, died June 21 in Princeton, N.J., as a result of complications from open-heart surgery. Lazarus was president of Lazarus Jewelers in New York City from 1945 until 1987 when the company was sold to Wideband. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Donna Lazarus; a sister, Phyllis Kane, and her husband, Herbert; his grandchildren, Alexis and Matthew; and his companion, Brenda Glasberg.
