The Lone Star Chapter of the GIA Alumni Association received the Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award for 2005.

In 2005 Lone Star awarded 12 scholarships for GIA classes from funds raised from a silent auction held in August. Southwest Midas Texas vendors donated items for the auction.

Janisue Rigel and Shelley Hirsh received Chapter Member of the Year Awards, and Richard Hirsh received the Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award.
