Revere Academy East Returns to North Carolina

Every two years, the Revere Academy joins with the Florida Society of Goldsmiths to present six days of workshops on the East Coast. The next program will be held at Wildacres Retreat in the mountains of North Carolina from Oct. 29 to Nov. 5.

For those on the East Coast, Revere Academy East offers an opportunity to take the Revere Academy’s most popular classes close to home. Classes cover the same material, using the same tools and equipment, and are taught by the same experienced, professional instructors as in the classes taught in San Francisco. Each student can choose two classes from subjects as varied as fabrication, stone setting, granulation, mokume-gane, clasps, and design. Students receive a Revere Academy certificate for each class and classes are applicable to the California State’s requirements for the Jewelry Technician and Graduate Jeweler Diplomas.

Wildacres is a mountain top retreat in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, close to the arts and crafts center of Asheville. Wildacres is dedicated to education and communication in the arts, sciences and literature. The Academy’s program is designed to enhance the artistic and technical skills of participants in a serene and natural environment, free from the distractions of everyday life. Students stay in wood and stone cabins nestled in the mountains, with sweeping forest views.

The cost of the program is $995, which covers tuition for two classes plus double occupancy lodging for 7 nights and 20 meals. Members of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths can register for a reduced fee of $950. To learn more, or download an application, visit revereacademy.com.
