Bridal jewelry manufacturer Mercury Ring Corp. is the first jewelry company to receive accreditation from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the nation’s leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America’s corporations.
“Being certified by WBENC is another achievement that I hope will empower other women in my industry to strive for increased success for both business and personal goals,” said Phyllis Bergman, Mercury Ring president.
As president, Bergman oversees all aspects of the Englewood, N.J.-based company, including sales, design, operations, marketing, and client relations. Under her leadership of 20 years, the company’s customer base has increased more than six-fold to more than 1,800 accounts nationwide. Nearly every major board in the jewelry industry has recognized Bergman as a leader in the industry including the Women’s Jewelry Association, the 24 Karat Club of New York, and American Gem Society.
The WBENC certification for women-owned businesses is one of the most widely recognized and respected certifications in the nation. Accepted by more than 700 major corporations across the country and a number of federal and government agencies, WBENC works to foster diversity in the world of commerce with programs and policies designed to expand opportunities and eliminate barriers in the marketplace for women business owners.
