Jewelry Information Center elected David Bouffard chairman of the organization, which serves as the public relations arm of the jewelry and watch industries. Bouffard, Sterling Jewelers Inc. vice president, public relations, succeeds Myriam Gumuchian whose two-year term was completed.
Bouffard joined Sterling Jewelers in 1981 in Field Operations. In his 27-year career with the company, he has been promoted to a number of management positions within the Merchandising, Advertising, and Marketing Departments. He is accredited in public relations and is a Gemological Institute of America Graduate Gemologist.
In addition to Bouffard, Jewelry Information Center also elected the following officers for the 2008-2010 term: Martin Gatins of Cartier, vice chair; Hank Siegel of Hamilton Company Jewelers, secretary/treasurer, and Myriam Gumuchian of Gumuchian as immediate past chair.
Jewelry Information Center also elected the following new board members for the 2008-2010 term: Andrew Block of Tourneau, David Bonaparte of JCK Group, Chris Casey of The Nielsen Companies, Liz Chatelain of MVI Marketing, Mindy Grimes of John Hardy, and Robert May of Natural Color Diamond Association. Elections were held July 28.
