manager, died of cancer Sept. 11. Bovo, who also worked on the JCK Las
Vegas show guide, is remembered by fellow staffers as special,
dedicated, and always helpful.
>>?Stanley Goodman, founder of Goodman & Sons Jewelers
in Hampton and Williamsburg, Va., died at Riverside Regional Medical
Hospital Sept. 8 at age 83 after complications from a long illness. He
founded the company in 1947 after serving in the Navy by establishing
stores on local military bases. His three sons work in the family
business, and his daughter and her husband own A. Altier Jewelers in Coral Springs, Fla.
>>?Yitzhak Forem, former president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, died Sept. 1 after a prolonged illness. Forem served as president of the Israel Diamond Exchange
from 1993 to 1998, and as WFDB president from 1998 to 2000. Born in
Poland in 1938, Forem survived the Holocaust and emigrated to Israel in
1949, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Israeli
army.
