Some news in the trade press area: National Jeweler is going online
only, beginning in 2011. The print publication will cease this year.
Here is a statement from editorial director Whitney Sielaff:
We have been working very closely
with the industry, our retailer readership audience especially, to determine
evolving information needs and how best to serve those needs. Readers have
demonstrated a clear preference for receiving their news, analysis and
commentary digitally, which is the quickest delivery method for information and
most easily consumed. National Jeweler is happy to respond to jewelers’ needs
and preferences and lead this migration to the next logical step in media
development.
