In a phone call
today with the Clarence House Press Office, which represents The Prince of
Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, and Prince Harry, a rep confirmed to JCK that 28-year-old Prince William had given fiancée Kate Middleton
his mother Diana’s ring, which features a sapphire center stone surrounded by a colorless diamond
accents in platinum. The office officially announced the engagement of
Prince William to Miss Catherine (“Kate”) Middleton this morning.
“We didn’t announce the details of the ring, but the Prince
and Miss Middleton have been in a photo call for the past half hour, and she
was wearing the ring worn by the Princess of Wales,” said the spokesperson.
“Prince William very much wanted her to have it.”
The wedding will take place in London next summer, according to the Clarence
House release.
