Academy Award and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson will present
the GEM Award for Jewelry Style to Neil Lane at the Jewelry Information Center’s
9th Annual GEM Awards on Jan. 7. The Los Angeles–based Lane has built a
personal and professional relationship with Hudson, as well as many other
Hollywood stars.
Lane is receiving the award for consistently inspiring and
fostering both consumer desire and profound media interest in jewelry.
Lane’s jewelry has adorned Hudson several times, including the 2007 Academy Awards, where she received the
Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her unforgettable role as Effie in the
2006 movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. He also custom designed the actress’
diamond and platinum engagement ring from David Otunga.
The GEM Awards will take place on Friday, Jan. 7 at Cipriani
42nd Street in New York City, with cocktails beginning at 6:30 p.m. Select seating is still available. To purchase tickets, or for more
