The Orchid Cuff from Christian Tse offers a glimpse of one
of the Pasadena, Calif.–based designer’s newest collections to look for at
JCK Las Vegas. The one-of-a-kind 18k white gold piece, set with 20 cts. of
colorless diamonds and 8 cts. of pink sapphires, is completely handmade and
took Tse three and a half months to complete. The inspiration for the design
was an orchid sent to his wife for her birthday last year.
According to the Tse camp, the
designer “was fascinated by the beauty and color of the orchid, and began doing
research on wild orchids and other flowers. As he has traveled over the past
year, he’s kept his eyes open for other interesting wildflowers which have
inspired the other pieces in the collection, including a ring, bracelet, and
earrings.”
The bracelet has a hinge for ease of wear, and a $50,000
retail price tag. What do you think?
