The spot price of gold hit a new record Aug. 22 of $1,894 an
ounce, just shy of a new benchmark of $1,900.
At press time, the price of the metal had settled down to
$1,883.
Gold’s price is roughly equal with the price of platinum,
which at press time was trading at $1,895 an ounce.
