Stephen Webster’s flair for the dramatic and über cool doesn’t disappoint in his latest jewelry collection, dubbed Murder She Wrote. Launched at the Baselworld fair this year, the line is inspired by British mystery novels—though given the name of an American TV series—comprising tales of “femme fatale and the English country house,” Webster tells JCK. (Look for the Smoking Gun necklace—featuring a meandering plume of smoke wafting out of a just-fired handgun—in the upcoming September issue of JCK!)
“Full of deceit, revenge, and jealousy, this collection of fine jewelry lays blood on the croquet lawn with emeralds, rubies, sapphires and of course, those most shadowy of characters, black diamonds,” he continues.
One of Webster’s favorites is the Poison Apple ring: “The attention to detail on this piece is amazing—even the hands holding the poisoned apple are wearing diamond rings and bracelets. Set in luscious red rubies the apple looks good enough to eat!”
