An 18k gold brooch from Colorado-based jewelry designer Todd Reed features negative space and a multitude of raw macle—triangular—and cube diamonds.
“This piece was inspired by the shapes of the raw diamond crystals,” he tells JCK. “I love the negative space created when I put the shapes together. The triangle and the cube juxtapose nicely with the flowing and organic shape that I designed.”
The style is a one-of-a-kind, and, so special, according to Reed, that “when you hold it up to the light you can see through it; the polycrystalline coating is translucent.”
It retails for $41,800, and, is still looking for its forever home.
