For nearly a quarter of a century, the Centurion Show has served as a bellwether for business and product trends in the fine jewelry industry. This year’s event, scheduled for Feb. 2–4 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, promises to be no different. Below, we spotlight three brands bringing a trove of novelties to the show.
Sethi Couture
The San Francisco–based brand, founded in 2009 by sisters Pratima and Prerna Sethi, has exhibited at Centurion for 15 years. At this year’s show, the newest collections will feature lighter silhouettes, bolder statements with a clean design, and greater use of black diamonds.
The “lighter silhouettes” are evident in the new Mist collection of 18k yellow gold designs with a satin matte finish, which draws inspiration from delicate moments in nature such as “the elegant calm of morning dew,” according to the Sethis.
“We had a fantastic 2024 and look forward to continuing that momentum in 2025,” Pratima tells JCK. “Stacking rings, which are our signature, have become even more important in the woman’s jewelry wardrobe allowing her to tell her story, celebrate her milestones through reminders that each band represents.”
Varsha
Nick Mehta, CEO of Varsha, says the brand is coming off a late but “very successful” holiday season in which custom orders were especially strong. As the brand looks to the Centurion show, it’s emphasizing new lab-grown diamond jewels in a variety of colors.
“Lab-grown can really serve the industry when it comes to larger sizes in colored diamonds, primarily because nature just doesn’t make enough of them to meet consumer demand,” Mehta tells JCK.
“We have some new styles in our successful Color Candy collection featuring semiprecious gemstones. That line is very programmable for retailers—we offer silver, gold, even gold-plated for retailers looking to hit a certain price point in color. We will also be bringing some new styles in both our Varsha Vintage (art deco inspired designs) and Green Majesty (emerald) collections, as we have seen an increase in demand for both.”
Verragio
At Verragio, the focus at Centurion will be on its new Vanguard collection of wedding and engagement rings, as well as on a range of “Ring Embellishers,” a fancy name for ring jackets that have been designed to hold the center Vanguard ring in place. Whether worn solo or with an engagement ring or wedding band, the new jackets—which start at $3,250 retail, feature natural diamonds, and come in 14k and 18k white, yellow, and rose gold, as well as platinum—are all about flexibility.
“The Vanguard collection with our new Ring Embellishers is one of the first designer collections to really bridge the gap between the world of fine jewelry, everyday wearables, and bridal,” says founder Barry Verragio.
“We are thrilled to offer bridal customers the element of versatility. Brides are no longer limited to one look on the third finger of their left hand. The embellisher sets can be worn by themselves or with an engagement ring or with an eternity band—maybe one look for the engagement party, another for the wedding, and yet another for the reception. Similarly, for the rest of one’s life, the ring embellisher can be added when worn for dressy or evening attire and removed for more casual day outfits.”
