The 2025 awards season kicked off Sunday with the 82nd annual Golden Globes, always Hollywood’s most lovably unhinged celebration. (Blame it on the free-flowing Champagne and the lack of food; who wants to risk dropping sushi down their décolletage?)
Though there was plenty of risky (and head-scratching) fashion—rib-crushing, bust-lifting sculptural gowns were everywhere—actors went disappointingly light on the jewels. Call us maximalists, but we’d like to see a little more sparkle at the upcoming SAG Awards and Oscars. Or a lot more sparkle.
These are the folks who got it right, as they so often do.
Colman Domingo
The actor was a red-carpet star in 2024, and we had a feeling he’d continue his sartorial streak in 2025. Nominated for his performance in Sing Sing, Domingo emerged as the evening’s best dressed man, in a Maison Valentino suit and Boucheron jewelry. But it’s not just the jewels; it’s how he wears them. Note the massive emerald ring—on his pinky! And the ear stack: one Fuzzy the Leopard stud beneath two Quatre clip earrings—all on a single ear. Elegance for days.
Selena Gomez
If you’re used to seeing Gomez as the nonchalant New Yorker Mabel (aka “Bloody Mabel”) in Only Murders in the Building, you might have done a double take when she walked the red carpet in this old-Hollywood-glam ensemble. A double nominee for her supporting roles in the hilarious Hulu whodunit OMITB and in the dark indie movie musical Emilia Pérez (one of the night’s big winners), Gomez was a knockout in all-Tiffany jewelry, including a diamond-drip statement necklace, diamond studs, and a wreath-style diamond ring. You could say she was dressed to kill.
Kate Winslet
Another two-time nominee—for the TV satire The Regime and the World War II–era film Lee (in which she plays legendary photojournalist Lee Miller)—Winslet has now amassed a total of 14 Golden Globe noms and five wins. Her style is typically understated, but we love this Erdem suit: black-and-white, just like Miller’s historic photos, and ever-so-slightly sexy. And thanks to her updo, we can admire those gorgeous Martin Katz diamond drop earrings from every angle.
Adrien Brody
If you see a stunning piece of art pinned to Brody’s lapel, chances are it’s a brooch by Hong Kong–based Elsa Jin. He’s worn her dazzling creations to film festivals, the Met Gala, and now to the Globes, where he was honored for his star turn in the decade-spanning drama The Brutalist. We love his devotion to the award-winning designer, whose works so beautifully capture motion and strength.
Jean Smart
Speaking of devotion to a designer: Smart just won her third Golden Globe for playing a Las Vegas comic legend in Hacks (on top of three Emmys for the part as well), and she did it once again in classic diamond jewels by her go-to brand, Rahaminov. The earrings—featuring nearly 15 carats of Rahaminov’s signature Movál-cut diamonds—were custom-designed for Smart.
Anya Taylor-Joy
The necklace is a little bit deco and a little bit retro—but it’s actually one of the newest showstoppers from Tiffany & Co.’s 2024 Blue Book Collection. The cabochon opals contain a veritable rainbow of colors, including the perfect pink shade of Taylor-Joy’s archival Dior slip dress. She added the matching bracelet—and another 26+ carats of those insane opals.
Jeff Goldblum
When you meet the Wizard, what will you be wearing? Because Goldblum—who plays the man behind the curtain in the stage-to-screen musical juggernaut Wicked—will be wearing four (!) diamond brooches by De Beers, plus a bedazzled green Amiri jacket that’s perfect for any Emerald City occasion.
