Signed jewels by Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels mingle with stylish unsigned jewels and exceptional colored gems at this week’s Bonhams sale, a treasure trove of finely made jewelry essentials.

The 96 lots on offer in Sotheby’s New York auction represent a number of coveted design houses (Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, and JAR, among many others). Perhaps equally enticing to some collectors is the fact that some of the pieces were owned by boldface names like Millicent Rogers, the glamorous granddaughter of Standard Oil partner Henry Huttleston Rogers, known for her impeccable style (and great love of jewelry) and beauty industry magnate Sydell Miller, who founded Matrix with her husband in 1980.
