John A. Green, president and CEO of Lux Bond & Green, will receive the 2025 Gem Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Green will receive the honor at the 23rd annual Gem Awards, which will take place Friday, March 14, 2025, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Green was selected for his “diligent devotion to the jewelry industry and his family-owned jewelry stores,” said a statement from Jewelers of America, which puts on the annual ceremony.

Green is a graduate of Boston College and the Gemological Institute of America. In 1992, he was elected president and CEO of Lux Bond & Green, making him the fourth generation of his family to head the retailer. Established in 1898, Lux Bond & Green has five locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and a new concept retailer called Store52 in West Hartford, Conn.

Green has held several leadership positions within the jewelry industry, including serving on the board of Jewelers Mutual Group, Jewelers of America, Jewelers for Children, Jewelry Information Center, Gem Awards, GIA, and MJSA. He has also held active leadership roles in his local community, serving as treasurer for the Greater Hartford Community Foundation and a member of the economic development committee of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.
