IIJS Premiere 2024 Sees Record-Breaking Business

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) announced that this summer’s India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere trade show set a business record, pulling in $12 billion in sales.

Held Aug. 8–13 at the JIO World Convention Centre and Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, IIJS Premiere (pictured) attracted more than 50,000 buyers from over a dozen countries. This was the 40th edition of the show.

“IIJS Premiere 2024 was a tremendous success, generating over $12 billion in business for our exhibitors. The show featured a dazzling array of products that highlighted the brilliance in designs and clearly reflected the shift towards catering to millennials and Gen Z,” said Vipul Shah, chairman of GJEPC, in a statement. “This year’s event set new benchmarks in innovation and creativity, bringing together the finest talents in the industry.

“The overwhelming response from buyers and the enthusiasm of exhibitors reaffirm our commitment to making IIJS the premier platform for the gem and jewelry industry. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone for contributing to the show’s remarkable success. Together, we will continue to drive the industry forward, setting new standards of excellence and achieving greater heights.”

Rahaminov Sponsors Aspen Fashion Benefit

Third-generation jeweler Rahaminov Diamonds served as an exclusive jewelry sponsor for Rev the Runway, a charity fashion show in Aspen, Colo. Local retailer Meridian Jewelers participated with Rahaminov in the event.

Rev the Runway featured a VIP cocktail hour and a fashion show highlighting creations from Rahaminov and clothing from Aspen’s top designer boutiques, by such brands as Frame, OURS, and Kiton.

The event benefited National Jewish Health, a hospital dedicated to groundbreaking research and treatment of respiratory, cardiac, immune, and related disorders.

“What a spectacular night for an equally marvelous cause,” said Rahaminov’s Tamara Goldfiner in a statement. “We were honored to participate and have our pieces shown alongside such revered designers.”

Jewel-Craft Lauded as IJO Vendor of the Year

B2B company Jewel-Craft, whose services include jewelry design and manufacturing, repair and restoration, appraisal, stone setting, and more, was named one of the VIP Vendors of the Year by the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO).

An invitation-only group of jewelers, IJO annually recognizes vendors that provide excellent service in the jewelry industry. “It’s a tremendous honor,” said Ross Wesdorp, co-owner and senior director of sales and service of Kentucky-based Jewel-Craft, in a statement. “Thank you to IJO members for trusting us with your customers’ special projects—we take pride in crafting every one of them with care.”

Stuller Wins “Great Place to Work” Certification

Industry supplier Stuller has received certification from Great Place to Work, a global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership excellence.

The “Great Place to Work” title is awarded based entirely on what employees report about their employer and how consistently they experience a high-trust workplace.
