The Wave bracelet, part of a larger Wave collection of new designs from Fort Lee, N.J.–based Fana, debuted to buyers at the recent Centurion Jewelry Show. Crafted in 18k white gold with blackened areas and set with 4.87 cts. t.w. colorless and 1.24 cts. t.w. cognac diamonds, the piece retails for $12,000. And while it’s not at all surprising to hear that company designer Bobby Jain sold a few—they are pretty—it is a little surprising to hear the number: seven.
“We had a pretty great show,” he told JCK on Tuesday afternoon. “It was a nice kickoff to the year, and we had a positive response to this collection, which starts at $2,500 retail.”
The bracelet prototype took about four months make, but additional ones—made in Thailand—will be ready in about six weeks. “Each one has almost 1,000 stones,” adds Jain. Orders start shipping March 1, and the bracelets are going to six different states, two to California. The style also won the second runner-up spot in the second annual Centurion Design Awards 2012 in the Diamond Fashion category.
