The Italian jewelry fair kicks off today in high style
It’s Day One of VicenzaOro—the annual fine jewelry fair in Vicenza, Italy—and 2,400 exhibitors (representing 2,800 brands) have set up shop inside the Fiera di Vicenza convention center to welcome an expected 54,000 visitors from 131 countries, according to event executives.
Walking the show in its first few hours, I’ve seen a plethora of colored stone jewelry (green is big), enameled jewelry, coral in an astounding range of rosy hues, and an overall emphasis on exceptional, highly detailed goldsmithing—which, of course, is central to the Italian jewelry market’s DNA.
Here are a few exceptional pieces I captured on my first-day stroll:
One-of-a-kind pendant by Santagostino
Crab necklace by Daniela Villegas (worn by the designer)
Coral necklace by DeSimone Jewelers
Bracelet by Gold Art
Necklace by Magerit
