Italian fine jeweler Marco Bicego has expanded its international presence with a second location in China, at Grand Gateway 66 Plaza, one of Shanghai’s most prominent retail destinations.
“Our newest Shanghai flagship store will become an important touchpoint for more and more people to discover the brand, experience our jewelry firsthand, and be inspired by our designs,” said Marco Bicego, founder and creative director of his namesake company, in a statement. “We know that the physical experience and interaction with the product remains crucial, especially in our industry.”
At around 800 square feet, the Shanghai store is a welcoming space, with the warm tones of its beige counters and brown Italian marble accents, soft lighting, and inviting textures such as rose-toned velvet armchairs. Stunning brass sculptures hang from the walls. Marco Bicego is on the ground floor of Grand Gateway 66 Plaza, alongside other luxury fashion, jewelry, and watch brands.
“This global showcase is a powerful step forward in our brand’s growth strategy,” Bicego said. “We wanted to create a refined and luxurious environment in which to offer local and international customers the experience of appreciating ‘made in Italy’ creativity and craftsmanship, accompanying them to discover the brand and collections.”
Marco Bicego opened its first store in China, in Beijing, in 2020. Genevieve Chow, general manager of brand development for Chow Sang Sang, the Chinese company that partners with Marco Bicego in the country, said: “Extending the brand’s presence across our stores has been a goal of ours for some time, and this new milestone in the region expands and further strengthens our excellent partnership.”
