Is that so much to ask?
On Fridays here at On Your Market, we typically look at new collections from brands and designers. And that was very much the intention for today—until I encountered a problem.
Not all problems are bad, mind you, and this one certainly is not. It’s just that when presented with this year’s holiday gift guide from Renna, which includes both new styles for the season and the brand’s signature items, I couldn’t narrow it down.
First I got stuck on these earrings pictured above, an incredibly covet-worthy pair of hoops that deviate from the classic style while making it obviously they’ll never go out of favor. An addition to one of the brand’s core collections, Waves, the Wave Study I hoops feature a placement of diamonds both exciting and chic—and generously sized. The round central diamond in each earring weighs just over 2 carats, so these statement-worthy staples are anything but basic.
I also love the Aegean cuff in Renna’s Sea: Chapter II collection, with its soft-colored enamel and diamonds. (The piece made its debut at last spring’s Couture show.)
Then there is the Tawaret pendant. As a mother of young children, it speaks to me deeply: Tawaret, the ancient Egyptian goddess of fertility and childbirth, is said to frighten away evil spirits and protect pregnant and nursing women. That this figure is gorgeously crafted in rich gold with malachite and jade makes it all the more divine (it’s available with other gem combinations, like this fabulous rodochrosite and garnet version, too). I love her.
Another Renna jewel I couldn’t ignore is the Tentacle cuff, which also made its debut at Couture, part of an ongoing collaboration with fashion designer Alejandra Alonso Rojas. The bracelet is gorgeously sleek, with a colorful assortment of sapphires and garnets and an asymmetrical style.
For pet lovers, Renna’s dog tag in sterling silver bears the brand’s signature wave font for the pup’s initial—but, I mean, I’d wear it. Since 15% of the proceeds from each sale goes to Animal Haven, pets can do good and look good. (And for humans who love the letters, Renna offers a gold initial necklace that’s irresistible.)
So yeah, for anyone asking: All I want for Christmas this year is everything—anything!—from Renna.
