The Best Tarot Jewels That Channel the Spirit of Halloween

Share

Ahead of Halloween, we’re looking for jewelry to channel the mood of the season. That vibe includes mysticism and the supernatural—which leads us to tarot. A centuries-old system of divination, tarot uses a deck of 78 cards to explore the past, present, and future. Its symbolism has found a canvas in jewels that tell stories and serve as daily reminders of hope, strength, and love for wearers. Here’s how three different designers have put their own spin on tarot jewels.

Sofia Zakia necklace
The Lovers II. Tarot Card Necklace in 15k yellow gold, $1,050; Sofia Zakia

“The Lovers” is typically the sixth card in a tarot deck. Sofia Zakia was also inspired by archaeological artifacts such as the Lovers of Valdaro, the Hasanlu Lovers, and the Lovers of Modena—skeletons that were discovered in what look like romantic positions—in creating this pendant that depicts two skeletons in an eternal embrace. The image suggests that when all else is stripped away, love remains. It’s meant to ignite passion, duality, and pureness of love in its wearer.

Edge of Ember necklace
Serpent Opal Necklace in 18k gold-plated 100% recycled sterling silver, $165; Edge of Ember

As a reptile that sheds its skin, a snake is a symbol of healing and renewal in tarot. In Edge of Ember’s pendant design, a cultured opal has been set in the snake’s head. This mystical serpent is infused with hope, purity, and truth, strengthening this sentiment of shedding the past and moving toward a bright future. The necklace is part of Edge of Ember’s new tarot collection.

Sorellina necklace
Le Stelle piccola tarot card necklace (also pictured at top) in 18k gold with 5.1 cts. t.w. onyx, 0.65 ct. t.w. yellow sapphire, 0.1 ct. t.w. blue sapphire, and 0.19 ct. t.w. diamond, $10,200; Sorellina

Sorellina recently introduced piccola (Italian for small) versions of its tarot card pendants, but they carry all the power of the original sizes. The brand’s gem-set Le Stelle design is a representation of the star card in tarot, encouraging hope in the darkest of times.
