So ubiquitous is the pearl, consumers are seeking new ways to consume it. And jewelers are responding with pearl jewels in an array of designs and colors.
Pink, especially, is having a moment, in large part thanks to a certain blockbuster movie (our own Karen Dybis covered the influence of Margot Robbie and her Assael pearl necklace, worn to the U.K. premiere of Barbie, in September). Pink on pearl is an incredibly palatable look—a soft, sweet departure from the oft-seen white and cream.
In keeping with the warm-color theme, golden pearls (and even those with a brown or orangey hue) are drawing more attention from pearl lovers. They provide something the traditional white pearl simply doesn’t, without being so boisterously colorful that they can’t also be treated as a neutral tone.
When pink and golden pearls are paired together, they evoke a sunset, warm and cheerful. Their color palette is prime for autumn and its crisp wardrobe hues—imagine them against a creamy sweater or a soft camel dress. It’s a divine style for the season, yet the pearls are bright for spring all the same, as evidenced by the floral pieces featured here.
