Call it a sentimental moment: Ali Weiss Jewelry has opened its second store, exactly two years after welcoming piercing- and jewelry-obsessed customers into the brand’s first location.
Weiss opened her Roslyn, N.Y., store on Sept. 6, bringing her piercing parties and minimalist jewelry to an area of Long Island where her customers had been asking her to set up shop, Weiss says. Having her own brand and this kind of retail success is a dream come true, the designer adds.
“Opening my second location is a super-exciting milestone personally and professionally. I’m so happy that everyone’s loving our brand and the experience of our store,” Weiss says.
“Professionally it’s huge—I never thought I would open one store, yet here we are with our second,” Weiss says. “I am so in love with our second store. I’ve learned so much throughout this whole process and am looking forward to continuing to learn and grow.”
Interior designer Billy Ceglia worked with Weiss and her team to come up with a graphic interior for the new store that mixes blacks, whites, and shiny silver, giving the space a dynamic energy. It’s a vibe, as the kids would say.
The 1,350-square-foot store, located at 1085 Northern Blvd., features a stylized “AW” in neon on a white wall. There are minimalist white jewelry cases in the middle of the showroom floor, along with two black benches, where customers can sit and talk about what piece of jewelry they might want to add to their collection next. A second seating area, with oversize chairs and a silver coffee table, lets people hang out while a friend or family member is getting pierced.
The piercing room is done in all black except for a neon sign that exhorts Weiss’ customers “Let’s Get Pierced” in a rosy pink. The dozens of pictures on the wall show off the ears and earrings of people who have selected Weiss’ jewelry.
Weiss says her Long Island customers asked for a store, as she has been a regular visitor to the area with trunk shows, piercing events, and boutique appearances. Her sales there have been among her brand’s best, Weiss says, and she always received customer messages afterward asking when she was coming back.
Many of those customers would drive to Westchester County to visit Weiss’ first store, which opened in September 2021 and will run a special sale in honor of the second store’s opening, Weiss says.
Ali Weiss Jewelry started in 2005 and is known for its stacking 14k pieces, sleek earring designs, and upscale piercing services. Weiss works with her own piercer, Keri D’Angelo, to ensure that the brand’s piercing experience is safe, easy, and fun, she says.
As for the future, Weiss says she is looking at growing her business through wholesaling and hopes to open additional retail locations.
