We’ve all heard the iconic line “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking” ad nauseam. The fact we’re still quoting that sarcastic quip from The Devil Wears Prada nearly 20 years after the film premiered shows how reliable flower fashions really are during that season—they are about longevity, not originality.
Yet florals can be original and—gasp!—totally off-season, too. They’re big for fall this year, and we can’t get enough. Take our editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky’s report on the hottest trends to know this season: “The vibe for fall is all about romantic floral prints and appliqués—darker than the pastels we normally see in spring and quite a bit moodier,” she writes.
