From the floor of the 2023 JCK Show in Las Vegas comes a video hosted by our own editor-in-chief, Victoria Gomelsky, detailing the hottest trends poised to hit retail stores this fall.
“For a jewelry editor, trendspotting at JCK in Las Vegas is the highlight of the year, and the 2023 edition did not disappoint,” Gomelsky says. “We saw fresh takes on classic styles such as signet rings, gold chains, and tennis bracelets, as well as heaps of charming and playful jewels inspired by the natural world, from scarab beetle brooches to opal pendants shaped like storm clouds, complete with diamond-and-gold lightning bolts. Overall, there was an emphasis on jewelry that makes you smile—some people are calling it ‘dopamine jewelry’—and that made for very fun browsing!”
Here are the five major trends featured on the trend tour from the JCK Show 2023. (To see the video in full, click here and fill out the form for free access.)
Figurative jewelry
Motifs inspired by nature—insects, butterflies, bugs, and animals—were seen in both imaginative designs and literal representations.
Colorful gemstones
A diverse array of gemstones—aquamarine, topaz, garnet, spinel, opal—captivated audiences on the show floor, with blue, green, pink, and yellow dominating the color palette.
Signet rings
With new variations featuring coins and symbolic designs, signet rings experienced a renaissance at JCK, in a range of styles showcasing timeless symbolism and contemporary aesthetics.
Yellow gold chains
Chain jewelry in yellow gold is still dominating the market, and styles ranging from delicate to bold were on display at the show.
Pearls
A new take on pearls prominently featured at JCK 2023, with asymmetrical arrangements, colorful combinations with gemstones, and contemporary settings showcased throughout the event.
