A jewelry editor’s inbox is bursting with so many good jewels, and it doesn’t seem fair that any bit of sparkle might be contained to an email. But only so many blog posts can be written in a day—trends to cover, collections to highlight, one-of-a-kind creations to share—so not everything can get its much-deserved spot on the page.
I thought, then, that I’d dig into my inbox for some of the pieces that have been taking space in my bejeweled brain, with the upcoming autumn season in mind. As we head toward September, many shoppers will be out to score something new to kick-start the second half of the year. Any of these five resplendent jewels could be just the thing.
Gemella’s Intertwin ring has a bit of toi et moi going on, mixed with a link design—both elements of hugely popular styles at the moment. Not asking consumers to choose, it combines Barbie pink with cool blue, hitting the high notes of two strong color preferences for 2023. But never mind current trends: It will most certainly outlast them all.
Spanish brand Unode50’s Ovni necklace has that chunky gold look that’s powering through each season, with a shell pearl at its center for a glossy, polished finish. Kept short and worn close to the neck, it’s sure to get noticed with any fall fashion, and with an accessible price point, it’s an easy win for consumers looking for extra oomph without breaking the bank.
At quite the opposite end of the price spectrum, Assael’s absolute wow of a cuff doesn’t really need words, does it? With well over 100 carats of gemstones, diamonds, and pearls, it says more than enough with its phenomenal presence.
We’ve seen bow jewelry, but none quite like this. Marrow Fine Jewelry mixes the classic, sweetly feminine bow with the bold gold cigar band aesthetic that would make just as gorgeous an alternative engagement ring or wedding band as it would a piece worn for everyday style.
And finally, at top, Mindi Mond has given new life to this one-of-a-kind medallion, featuring a rose-cut diamond center and Victorian floral and bow design in diamonds. The vintage market is hot, and Mindi Mond’s renewed antique piece slides seamlessly into modern fashions.
