Senior editor Rob Bates remarked this morning that he thought more people were talking about the anniversary of 9/11 this morning than there were a year ago for the decade milestone.
I didn’t notice a significant difference on my commute into the New York City office. However, I did once I checked all of my social media networks. I had much the same feeling I had when the world found out Osama Bin Laden had been killed; more people engaging in social media meant that more people would reach out to connect to each other, and at a faster rate, during moments of national unity.
Here’s what the jewelry industry had to say about the 11th anniversary of one of the darkest days in U.S. history:
We will #neverforget 9/11. If you are headed to our store today, here is the link to the memorial down the street: bit.ly/mmbYvt
