Stand back and make way—the pendulum that dictates which color of gold is most fashionable is swinging in a new direction.
That’s right: After a solid decade of yellow gold’s dominance, white gold is on the ascent.
Look to the runways, where fashion designers, led by Gucci, have embraced the silvery metallic look. Jewelers have quickly followed suit. With its contemporary and understated vibe, white gold is the perfect medium to display diamonds, especially in the age of “quiet luxury.”
Buyers who attended last week’s jewelry shows in Las Vegas, where Los Angeles–based Vram Minassian introduced a collection of his best-selling Chrona styles in 18k white gold (check them out below), likely noticed the trend. And exhibitors at the JCK and Luxury shows—such as Royal Chain and Aurelie Gi, also noted below—no doubt noticed an uptick in orders. It’s white gold’s inevitable comeback, and we, as you might have guessed, are here for it.
Below (and above) are 11 new pieces, in both 14k and 18k, that showcase the subtle charm of white gold.
