Who doesn’t love a good alternative engagement ring? Even for those sticking steadfast to the classics, it’s hard not to be inspired by the range of options on the market today—if not to replace one’s solitaire, perhaps to wear on the right hand.
If budget were no object, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more people take up engagement ring collections—a wardrobe of pieces to wear whenever the mood strikes, or depending on one’s ensemble (Victoria Beckham does it!).
Of course, this isn’t realistic for the average consumer, but one can dream. And the place to fantasize about the next (or first) forever piece is at London’s Tomfoolery jewelry gallery, beginning this weekend.
Aptly, Tomfoolery’s showcase of alternative jewels acknowledges that to love isn’t only to be involved romantically—rings of commitment can also be worn in the name of friendship, family, even oneself. In addition, the exhibit highlights more than rings: Designers will also debut earrings, pendants, and bracelets in their collections.
“Wanting to fully represent love in all its glorious forms, we have evolved the showcase into Love Ring, acknowledging the many ways we express our love outside of a wedding ceremony,” said a statement from the gallery. “Our joyous expressions of love can take many forms for ourselves, our family, friends, or a partner.”
Love Ring kicks off April 15 and runs through June 17 at Tomfoolery’s Muswell Hill gallery in London.
