Omaha, Neb.–based retailer Borsheims has promoted two executives from within the company.
Sunil Luthra (pictured) has been named chief operating officer, and Carie Lehrke has moved up to senior director of human resources.
In his new role, Luthra will lead the operational teams at Borsheims, including information technology, security, customer service, gift wrapping, shipping, facilities, and the jeweler’s in-house repair shop.
Luthra joined Borsheims in 2010 as director of information technology. In 2021, he was promoted to vice president of technology and security and director of information technology. In his prior jobs, Luthra implemented an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that streamlined inventory management, data analysis, product fulfillment, and financial operations for the business.
He is also the co-founder and co-chairman of the Adaptive Jewelry Users Group, a group consisting of jewelers who use adaptive jewelry software.
In Lehrke’s new position, she will join Borsheims’ executive leadership team and will oversee the company’s strategic vision for human resources and employee culture. Lehrke joined Borsheims in 1995 and has held jobs in the customer service, gift sales, and inventory teams.
Borsheims, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2020, is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s holding company.
