Diamonds Do Good will present its annual awards to De Beers Group, Rosy Blue, Valérie Messika, and Lorraine West.
The 2023 awards will be presented during the JCK show at Diamonds Do Good’s annual gala on June 1, in the Palazzo Ballroom of the Venetian Resort.
De Beers Group will receive DDG’s highest honor, the Good Award, for its “commitment to create lasting positive impact for the people and places where natural diamonds are found,” DDG said.
Rosy Blue will receive DDG’s Visionary award, as it was an early adopter incorporating “social, environmental, economic, and ethical factors into their corporate strategic decision-making process,” according to DDG. “It was also the first Indian manufacturer to sign on to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), leading the way by joining the U.N. Global Compact.”
Valérie Messika (pictured, top) will receive DDG’s NextGen award. The daughter of diamond merchant André Messika, Valérie established Maison Messika in 2005. Valérie is also inspiring this new generation to take action and make a difference in the world through her Fondation Valérie Messika, said DDG.
Lorraine West will receive its Inspiration award, for what DDG called her “talent, perseverance, and achievements in the diamond and jewelry industry.”
“The recipients of these awards reflect the importance of engaging community around the world,” said DDG cofounder and civil rights leader Dr. Benjamin Chavis Jr. in a statement. “Now more than ever we need to reaffirm and share this commitment with consumers everywhere.”
