Prada’s 1st Fine Jewelry Line Pushes Industry Standards

Like many of the best, Prada is one of those brands that are instantly recognizable. But how does that translate into fine jewelry, a medium that the brand has never explored before?

To start (and most obviously), Prada’s archetype, its signature triangle, resonates through every piece in the newly released (and first-ever for the brand) fine jewelry collection called Eternal Gold. Whether in the form of a heart pendant, the clasp of an earring, or the angles of a chain link, the presence of the triangle is traced throughout the gender-neutral collection.

Less obviously, Prada’s collection is a standout for its sustainable material: 100% Certified Recycled Gold that meets the Chain of Custody standards set by the Responsible Jewellery Council, while also pushing industry standards.

To introduce the brand’s strong foray into the world of fine jewels, Prada enlisted equally form-breaking talent to front its campaign, photographed by the legendary David Sims: poet and activist Amanda Gorman, American actor Maya Hawke, and singer Jeon Somi. “A cast of exceptional personalities, championed for their talent and achievements, are celebrated as individuals,” Prada says on its site. “They are unique, like each piece of fine jewelry—and their contribution to culture is lasting.”

Ranging in price from the low thousands to $60,000, the collection includes 48 pieces, 10 of which are available on a made-to-order basis, which is a sector that will reportedly expand in the future. But Prada’s not stopping there. Next up: high jewelry.
