Dominion Diamond Corp. has appointed Chantal Lavoie as president and chief operating officer of the Dominion Diamond Ekati Corp.
He will be responsible for the operation of the Ekati mine, which Dominion (formerly Harry Winston) took control of in April.
Lavoie is the former COO for De Beers’ Canadian mining operations, including the Victor Mine in Ontario, the Snap Lake mine, and the Gahcho Kue project in the Northwest Territories.
The company also owns a minority interest in the nearby Diavik mine.
