It doesn’t at all feel like it’s been six months since we rang in the new year, and yet, in just a few short weeks, we’ll be packing our bags for Las Vegas.
While it certainly feels like it crept up on me, that may not be the case for the exhibitors, who have been busy planning their products, showcases, marketing, appointment making, and more. I’ve been privy to a peek at some of the jewels on their way to the show floor, and I’ll just say this: They’re worth the wait.
In speaking with many exhibitors, there’s a general consensus that we can expect a lot of color throughout the jewelry displays, with an emphasis on large gemstones. Chalk it up to a celebratory mood: Finally getting out, and to one of the largest and most anticipated industry events of the year, no less, calls for some excitement.
As for the size of the gemstones—many have been hiding away, so there’s an urge to see and be seen. We’re quite ready to get loud and go all in on accessorizing, because it feels good after a long period of not doing that.
Just Jules, the Arizona-based brand helmed by designer Julie Romanenko, will be showcasing its reliably gorgeous jewels at the Luxury show and has a number of rough gemstone rings that fit the need for big and bold beautifully.
The trio of them pictured here are on the larger side—between about six and eight and a half carats—and their lovely colors certainly count as bold. But there’s a delicacy to the pieces too—one that shows in the way their settings gently hug each curve of the stones, a river of gold surrounding each organic shape.
The rings are each detailed on their bands, too, supporting the notion that, despite a slightly chunky presence, a daintiness is equally noticeable. In addition, the etched bands lend a sort of old-meets-new vibe that works so well.
You can visit Just Jules at the Luxury show by invitation only June 8–9; all JCK pass holders can visit June 10–13.
