Have you ever been up early enough on a cool morning to witness the dew on your lawn? The condensed water droplets absolutely sparkle when hit with light, like nature’s very own diamonds.
Have you noticed that rose-cut diamonds seem to sparkle in the same way? With her new Eau de Rosecut collection, Logan Hollowell helps us to make that connection, as the line of earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets glitters like the morning’s dew on a rose.
The “hidden messages of water and the magical essence of water droplets on lush flowers or exotic greens,” is the main inspiration for the collection, according to its notes.
The rose flower, which the centuries-old cut of diamond is named for, plays a central part in the collection. “There are layers of metaphors and symbolism hidden within a rose, one of which is the softness of their petals, juxtaposed with sharp thorns of protection and strength,” reads the collection’s notes. “Roses are soft, yet strong. The unfolding of its petals beginning with a bud represents the birth, death, and rebirth of all periods of life and its seasons. A rose reminds us to always bloom without fear of endings, and to never compare ourselves to others, but to just simply be.”
Because the collection uses pierced rose-cut diamonds (that is, they’re not held into any sort of setting, rather, pierced and hung from bales themselves—with the exception of a few styles), they have the appearance of floating, much like water droplets. “The pierced rose-cut diamonds offer a captivating and floating appearance,” says Hollowell. “The movement of the dangling diamonds embraces a magical, free-spirited feeling that can be translated however you’d like, whether it be layered casually or dressed up for a special occasion.”
It would be hard to select a favorite from the lineup, as they complement one another so beautifully, yet stand alone with covetable allure. There’s no denying, however, the irresistibility of the shaker-style pieces: The hoop earrings and rings, in particular, will make the wearer always want to be in motion, if only to see the jewels dance. “I love to layer the pieces together for a shimmering impact, but my favorite would have to be the Eau de Rosecut diamond Waterfall necklace,” says Hollowell. “The teardrop-shape dripping diamonds float and sparkle like a dream.”
The collection is available now.
