Simon G. Kicks Off Summer With Star-Studded Affair 

During Las Vegas Jewelry Week, Simon G. hosted its annual Summer Soiree at TAO nightclub in the Venetian hotel on June 1. Celebrities in attendance—including Paula Abdul, Katrina Bowden, Jenny McCarthy, and Holly Madison—were decorated in Simon G. jewels. Partygoers were treated to trendy appetizers, strong cocktails, and a special performance by the Village People, who ended the night by singing the “Y.M.C.A.”

Reese Witherspoon Sues Jewelry Company

Legally Blonde actress Reese Witherspoon will now be the star in her own legal drama: a lawsuit against Marketing Advantages International and its jewelry website Emitations.com. According to TMZ, the actress is reportedly suing the jewelry site “lots of dough” for using her picture as well as an imitation of her engagement ring in an advertisement without permission. 

Holly Madison Flaunts $2 Million Engagement Ring

Holly Madison, the former Playboy model and ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, is officially off the market. Fiancé Pasquale Rotella popped the question on June 23 with a 22 ct. fancy intense yellow diamond ring (valued at over $2 million) designed by Beverly Hills Jewelers Layna & Alan Friedman. The bauble was inspired by Electric Daisy Carnival, an electronic dance music festival held in Las Vegas that also served as the site of the proposal. In addition to the 3.5 carats of vivid pink, yellow, and blue natural color diamond flowers adorning the ring, a custom hand-engraved owl adds detail to the mounting. “Adding the uniqueness, like the owl that the couple has a shared love of, adds romance and sentiment to their jewelry piece,” Layna Friedman said in a statement.

Kelly Clarkson Loses Engagement Ring

While some stars are gaining bling, others are losing their sparklers. Last month, former American Idol star Kelly Clarkson lost her engagement ring during the CMA Music Festival. Talent manager Brandon Blackstock proposed to Clarkson in December 2012 with a fancy intense yellow diamond ring designed by Johnathan Arndt. Luckily, the future Mrs. Blackstock eventually found her bauble and took to Twitter to share the good news.
