Technically, I told my husband I wanted a gift certificate to a med spa because the mirror tells me daily that’s time for some “enhancements.” But I think I’m getting cold weather–friendly leggings and, if my daughter can be relied on to relay important information, a Christmasy to-go coffee cup I spotted when we were at the local five-and-dime.
Even if I specified a jewelry gift today, I’m pretty sure I missed the ordering window (except for the Page Sargisson charm below, which I understand will arrive on time if you purchase by Monday—I’m a chrysoprase freak, and its healing energies might be even more beneficial than Botox or whatever).
Charms, in fact, dominate this holiday jewelry wish list, a little “habit” I picked up during the pandemic—some little souvenirs of a terrible year that has turned into a sport and pastime.
The one I absolutely want the most is from Alex Šepkus; writing his obituary this fall was one of the most important assignments I have ever attempted, and the designer will forever have a special place in my heart.
The rest of my picks are a mix of fantasy purchases and ones I’ll be sticking a pin in for future reference.
Top: The cherry on top—literally—is a custom-carved carnelian pendant set with a diamond in 14k gold. There are earrings too. Price on request, Sophie Gardner.
